Pawn Shops Get You Quick Cash

A pawn shop is a place that offers cash in exchange for holding an item as collateral. They also allow you to purchase an item outright. The terms, conditions, regulations and operations differ based on location. The borrower can expect to reach an agreement for the resell value of their valuables as determined by the broker. Pawn shops are regulated and must comply with local, state, and federal laws. The merchandise stocked has either been purchased from customers or has become the property of the shop because individuals did not return to pay their loan balance.

The pawn industry has been a long-lasting market in history with its early beginnings dating back to ancient Greece.

Assessing Value

Our AZ pawn brokers are familiar with market values and resell prices. They stay up-to-date with the latest research tools, and strive to get you the maximum amount of cash for your valuables. The item appraisal process varies depending on the type of item. For instance, gold, silver, and jewelry is evaluated much differently than firearms or used tools.

Before you come into an EZ Money Pawn store you may want to do research of your own. Check to see if your item or similar items have been sold in the past 30-60 days to get a general idea of the market price. Item value is determined by the general population and what they are willing to pay for an item. The amount you are offered by the broker will be dependent on the following factors:

  • Uniqueness and Worth. Is your item manufactured widely or is it rare? Will the worth of your item increase over time? For example, gold, silver and jewelry items often increase in value.
  • Condition. Is your item damaged? Is your item functional? Are there any broken parts? Does your equipment have any imperfections?
  • Preservation and Authenticity. Does your item have original parts, original packaging, and instructions? Or, does your item have replacements and repairs?
  • Marketability. Is your item in high demand or obsolete? Will the broker be able to resell your item?

Market prices and standards for buying and selling valuables can be changeable. Although our AZ pawn brokers have no control over resell values, they will give you a fair offer on a collateral loan or when you are selling items for quick cash.
